Based on the short story of the same name,  starring Gary Sinise and Vincent D'Onofrio, Impostor was beset by problems and delays in production, performed poorly at the box office, and recieved lukewarm critical reviews. However, it does a creditable job of exploring the issues that Dick was obsessed with, and which dominate the story on which it is based: identity, the question "how do I know I am human?" and wondering whether others are who they appear to be (or whether they are in fact 'replicants').
